#99 How to Share your Testimony

Before coming to Christ

Ephesians 2:1-3 “And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.”

Before coming to Christ our lives are filled with sin. As well as many pains and suffering. When writing your testimony, determine what was wrong with your life before you met Christ.

  • In what ways is this true for you?

  • What has changed since then?

  • How did you feel before coming to Christ?

How you came to Christ

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

How did you come to believe in God? Consider the steps you took along the way. The ups and downs and how you felt throughout the journey.

  • Why do you believe?

  • What changed?

  • When did God become real to you?

After coming to Christ

Colossians 3:1-3 “Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.”

Your life changed when you came to Christ. Compare the before and after of who you were and who you are now.

  • How do you feel now?

  • How has your life changed?

  • What are you doing now?

Encouragement to others

Matthew 11:28

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.”

What can you say today to those who do not believe in God. It is our duty as believers to show the reason for our hope. To show those we love that life is not hopeless.

  • What can you say about God to others?

  • Why does your story matter?

  • How can others change like you have changed?
