#89 Evangelism: The three Circles Approach

The Three Circle approach to sharing the gospel can be an effective way to visualize the journey towards salvation. With three circles representing each step of the faith journey. The challenge of this method is having to have paper and a pen or a card made up already to share with. From the first circle there is God’s design, then our brokenness, and third is the gospel that helps us get back to the good news.

1st Circle: God’s Design

God’s design for our lives is like that in the garden of Eden. To be in a true relationship with God and each other.

From here there is a line we move away from God’s will towards our will.

2nd Circle: Brokenness

In our will there is shame, guilt, brokenness and regret because we are imperfect. By being in this circle we are sinning against God. When we live according to our will we in turn sin against each other and fail to even meet our own standards. We try to escape our brokenness yet the only escape is to turn towards God.

From here we can leave our brokenness by turning to the good news, the gospel.

3rd Circle: The Good News

The good news is that God came to save us. He came to restore our relationship with God. To bring us back into God’s plan for our lives.

Finally a line is drawn from the third circle back to the first. Hearing the good news we turn back to God. We accept Him into our lives. And we find ourselves back in God’s plan for our lives.
